With his unique name and background, Harvey Demetrakopoulos' 17 years of legal experience has greatly added to the creative and innovative approach of Shim & Chang. He has had extensive experience in handling hotel accidents and tourist injuries, automobile accidents, medical malpractice, slip and fall accidents, dog bite cases, and injuries caused by drunk drivers and uninsured and underinsured drivers.

Harvey's love of research and tenacity in representing clients have helped Shim & Chang attain successful results for its clients. A classic car buff, Harvey collects and rebuilds vintage cars. Harvey's knowledge of cars has helped in automobile accident cases and in cases against automobile manufacturers.

Raised here in Honolulu, Harvey graduated from Kaimuki High School and attended the University of Hawai`i at Manoa where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History. He then attended The William S. Richardson School of Law where he received his law degree in 1989. After graduation, he worked for four years in insurance litigation handling personal injury matters and then moved on to work on probate and guardianship matters. Since 1996, Harvey has exclusively handled personal injury cases at Shim & Chang. He is a member of the Hawai`i State Bar, the Consumer Lawyers of Hawai`i, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
